[at-l] "Stoves" and thruhiking --- LONG

In my sections, I've been impressed that mail drops are not cost effective
except for items that cannot be reliably purchased in trail towns. Perhaps
that includes Esbits and such.

I know that it includes home dried food and other items that small towns
rarely carry. I know that both Mountain Mamma and I lost money on the food
drop I mailed to Davenport Gap. I am now very certain that I could carry
both an tin can stove and a canister stove, and have every reason to expect
resupply easily with pretty reasonable expense.

I also think that attitude has a lot more to do with "success" (however
that is defined) than specific gear choices.
