[at-l] Animals on the trail

  i wasn't on the trail, but on land that was purchased for a reroute of 
the AT and had a panther walk up to 35 to 45 yards away. it ran when it saw 
me but i had to walk down a very steep slope near dark and was concerned i 
could not do it walking backwards. This was in Linden Va.,we are not 
supposed to have panthers here.

On a trail in W Va. i saw a red eft which is the terrestrial stage of the 
red spotted newt. Very beautiful.
