[at-l] Re: Re Re Gear list

Sorry, I didn't intend any insult or criticism of your clothing. I'd
encourage you to have a little section of mat (my boxer pup created
several from a Ridgerest she found laying around). This is smart to
carry loosely, perhaps between a Platypus bag and back pack, easily
pulled out and laid where you plan to sit. This provides an additional
insulation and reduces heat loss into stumps and rocks - a fairly
significant contribution to hypothermia.

The idea of chaps, rain pants, ponchos or other wind/rain gear is
totally unrelated to this little suggestion. It does not need to be
particularly big, and can possibly have additional uses, such as
propping up the head of a bivy. I hadn't thought of that one, but was
wondering about such a cushion to aid in the search for the perfect
hiking pillow.
