[at-l] The North Face XCR Jacket

As I write this I am planning my 2002 northbound thru-hike.  I have The
North Face XCR Jacket, and fleece liner and I was wondering if this will be
too "heavy" of a jacket for me to use on the trail.  I am planning a March
17th departure date, and I know the weather in the Smokies can get pretty
cold in the spring.  Do any of you seasoned hikers out there have any
feedback on this jacket & liner combo?  I know I will need a lighter jacket
for the summer months (any suggestions?), and I am planning on having my TNF
jacket mailed to me in the fall when the weather begins to turn colder.  I
have to admit that I am a real greenhorn when it comes to this, that's why I
am doing all of my preparation now.  I really don't know what I would do
without this service.  You are all so helpful.
