I agree that three days is pretty generous. My wife doesn't get why anybody does what we do, so I just jump back into normal mode when I get off the trail and chat with all ya'll (since there are more than six of us on the list, the correct terminology is "all ya'll" according to what I learned living in Texas) about what transpired.
