[at-l] Trail, Shuttle No. Va.

YO,

This isn't northern Va but worth a report. Last weekend the spring at Thunder Hill Shelter was dry. I did not check but feel sure there is water at the back up supply located less than a mile a way. Go south from the shelter on AT. At Blue Ridge Parkway crossing take the BRP south to the next gated road on your left. Go down this road (I am guessing about 300 yards, it has been a while) you may see a cairn and a trail to the left. The bomb proof spring is located about 50 feet away. The spring
must have been bomb proofed by the Bedford Air Force base that used to occupy this area.
