[at-l] light shoes

That is an excellent point, which is why I qualified what I said with the 
fact that I'm a section hiker, not a thru hiker :)  Probably a world of 
difference.  But I think that why I loved my boots sooooo much wasn't just 
the Gortex - it was because they fit me perfect and I never got blisters, no 
matter what the terrain or the weather.  The guy at Blue Ridge Mountain 
Sports spent about two hours with me getting a boot that fit - and it was 
well worth the time and money for me.  He really knew what he was doing.  
Toney had the same great experience with his Sundowners, but when I bought a 
pair I hated them.  It is, in the end, a very personal choice, I guess :)
