Re[2]: [at-l] Kennebec river crossing

I forgot to mention the dams have just been relicensed or are in the process.
I've lost touch with the details. But the new rules require that the power
companies keep more water running in the river at all times to protect trout
habitat. That means that even when the dams are closed upriver, more water is
flowing at the crossing than there used to be, making even low water fords more
dangerous than in the "good old days." The MATC calculates the ford to be 210
feet, though to follow the OldMasters sand bars will add a bit more distance.
