No, no, Red, you've got it wrong. You don't use a Photon to look out of your tent when orcs are around, you use a phial.

Now, when is some gear manufacturer going to manage to come up with one of those? I picture something like a reusable Glo-Stic that's bright enough to light up the whole clearing around the shelter. Let's get Photon or somebody working on one of those. All they need is a little light from the Silmarils.

Imagine being in a tent around Mt Rogers - imagine snow blanketing 
everything.  Imagine waking up in the middle of the night with this NOISE . . 
. these snorts, these poundings, these . . . NOISES.

I'm glad I didn't have a photon - would have made me look silly ;-)
