[at-l] Rock climbing along AT



I always see folks climbing on a rock face down the highway from Woody
Gap. Within easy view of the trail from Hog Pen Gap to Unicoi Gap is
the big rock of Yonah Mt., very popular and used by Rangers for
training (at least I've been told that). 

In Va, Spy Rock should be fair climbing, but probably not all that
challenging if you are "avid." There was a section north of Cedar
Cliffs where the trail goes up and over essentially a 3 story house of
rock, but I found it fun but not dangerous. The trail has bypassed some
huge rocks just off the Blue Ridge Parkway a half day south of Rock
Fish Gap.
