I met Bob a week after he opened in '97, stayed a few days and built the
steps and stairs leading to the hostel. I've been back many times since. To
me, there is no finer person on the trail. The man is outstanding, along
with his wife.

The Kincora is a gift of love and money has nothing to do with it. When
anyone asked, I'm the first one to say, go to the Kincora, you'll find the
true spirit of the trail there. Bob's dedicated to the trail, trail
maintainance and those that walk it.

A few months ago I visited for a few hours and then told him I was going down
the street to see some thru-hiker friends. "You have friends down the
street?" "Well..., I tried to tell them."

Kincora isn't a business and doesn't depend on numbers, although I think
their feelings may be hurt when someone takes a right at Dennis Cove Rd.,
they understand. If Laurel Creek Lodge wasn't there, Kincora would be
overwelmed for their size.

I think Bob would like it, if a true trail person or persons bought the LCL.

Sly
