If it's any consolation, this won't last too long.  You can peruse the 
archives to see that we usually talk about trail related stuff, and there is 
usually much more wit and humor involved :-)  If you stick around long 
enough, you'll surely end up meeting some of us on the Trail - it amazes me 
what a small world the hiking community really is sometimes.  I've run into 
listers without planning it hundreds of miles from my home or theirs, just 
running into each other unexpectedly when out for a weekend.  And then there 
are the planned get togethers.  We'd love to meet you at the Gathering, or 
Trail Days, the Ruck, or any number of mini-Rucks when some of us get 
together just for the heck of it, either to hike or just to be together.

Try to ignore the current unpleasantness, for it will pass.  If you have any 
questions, fire away.  The more questions and comments about the Trail, the 
quicker the sniping will go away.

And speaking of get togethers - I am about to post one.  If you're anywhere 
near the north end of the Smokies, consider joining us!
