The proprietors of The Cabin hostel in Andover met on an AMC day hike, hiked 700 miles of the AT
together and then were married one snowy March day at an AT shelter in New Hampshire. We all skied
or snowshoed in, including the minister.

We enjoyed a large, "politically incorrect" fire, hotdogs and hamburgers, and nibbled on a cold
turkey, and wedding cup cakes.

In addition to running the hostel, Earl is assistant overseer of 60 miles of the 100-mile-wilderness
trail, and chief troubleshooter. Whenever a hiker complains of blowdowns or a leaky shelter roof, he
combines his hiker shuttles with a day of maintenance.
