I am wondering how near to a road this tragedy happened. It is often suggested that you don't camp too near an area that "non hikers" can get to very easily. Even when hiking with a partner, I always make sure that I am at least a couple of miles away from an easy access. Every time I have heard a story like this, it was near an access road. Hummingbird
