MAGS,
Your birthday poem that I wrote a few months ago was accepted for =
publication and as an entry in an international poetry contest. I guess =
the guy from Rhody (or the AT) appeals to many people.
They will publish it in a book of poetry titled, "The Silence Within" =
Library of Congress ISBN-0-7951-5062-8 in winter 2001. =20
The nice thing is that what I said about Mags was true. I read the =
Trailplace journals of the hikers in 1998 very closely and I watched =
Mags hike right through without ever complaining. He was physicall fit =
as well as mentally prepared to hike whatever came his way. (note: =
There were many who were not so well prepared). When I hiked Maine in =
August-Sept that year Mags had already finished. He still stands as one =
of the best examples of a thru-hiker that I've known.
He even got to float on the inner tube in Speck Pond. When I grow up I =
wanna be just like him.=20
Have a Happy Day,
SLIM aka Nancy
