[at-l] The Rat's Ass Society: A personal view



I knew what its meaning was in the late 50's & the 60's in the USMC --
assume that was still close to the original meaning.

I was just checking the waters, re: what it means to whom now.

BTW re: "the folk process at work" -- I still remember the process where a
son, or husband, would say something like "I'm PO-ed" or "What a SNAFU."
Then a mother or wife would ask what it meant.  The son, or husband, would
say "Oh it means 'Put Out' or 'Situation Normal All Fouled Up."
