I seem to remember someone writing that they carried dog food for emergency rations. It is fit for human
consumption, nutritious, and will only get eaten in an emergency.

I know a "disgustingly old squashed rice crispie thing" wouldn't stand a chance if I got trail munchies, emergency
rations or not. Dog food, on the other hand...
