[at-l] photos

Hey Saunterer! I've been trying to catch up on my at-l mail (don't these
people ever SHUT UP? <g>) and following the photo thread. I working on
getting to the Colorado Trail this year, and I've got some photo questions.
First, I'm planning on carrying my Olympus Stylus, so that precludes
filters and such...
I've had a lot of high altitude pictures wash out on me. The dawn and dusk
pictures come out the best, but even with a camera with UV and/or Polarized
filters the high noon photos suffer, and if you're hiking you have to take
the pictures whenever you're there. Any suggestions?
I shot the Fuji Velvia on the JMT and was happy with the results, other
than the wash outs. Would it be most effective to get prints off of slide
film? I see that Dale does both for $15 a roll, but I don't know if that
slide film or print film...

Thanks, Skeeter
