GoreTex boots was Re: [at-l] Gore-Tex ???

I have worn Clarions (delaminated), Sundowners (ate my feet alive after
shrinking) and now own Vasque GTX hikers (low hikers, fabric, suede,
leather) all of them were/are Goretex and have never gotten wet feet...the
Clarions had a problem and did end up leaking due to the problem....but the
other 2 have been in torrential downpour, streams, mud, snow with gaitors
and are great....the only time my feet are wet is in the summer, in the
humidity and the boots are hot or if it comes in over the top. Having never
worn anything but Goretex have nothing to compare them with...I just wear
liners and good socks and have really had no problems with the GTX, they are
pretty good boots.
This, of course, is just mho...:) Gaiters and goretex in the summer are a
HOT combo and I would suggest you talk to John O about the lighter gaiters
he knows about...JOHN? :)
