Hmm, I'm another rec.backcountry person but I had lost access for years 
until there was web access (but I never got involved again).  I must have 
been on there 10 years ago or more.  I do remember Gerry Gladu's postcards 
from the trail though.  Anyone else remember those?

I occasionally still use a web interface to go back there but the signal to 
noise ratio is worse than on AT-L.  :-)
