[at-l] Dana Designs wet rib
I used one in my bad old heavy days. Actually the one I used had room for a
Nalgene bottle and a zippered pocket. It works well, and the water is very
accessible. It does require and extra snap when putting the pack on... it
can be a bit awkward to manage when disconnected.
All in all, I think it is a good idea with a Terraplane (my heavy pack). I
never found an alternative good way to attach a water bottle to that pack,
and I like to keep water handy. With my current pack (basically a mesh bag,
no hip belt) the thing is so easy to take off that I don't mind having to
reach in to get water, but taking a big pack on and off is a bit of a pain
so easy access to a water bottle is very important.
