I admire anyone for having the idea & will power to complete an AT 
thru-hike, especially SOBO.

BTW: some may consider it a stunt to try to hike with a loved one or spouse 
for a 5 or 6 months, that trying to put up with each other day in & day out. 
  Sorry to be a tad saracastic but he hiked the AT carrying a Tuba some hike 
it carrying all kinds of other baggage.  Just MHO.
