Those would be the little strap on instep crampons that apparently are 
light, cheap and pretty helpful. I understand Campmor and REI both carry 
them, but it might be an idea to get it along with a Kelty Vapor per 
JohnO's message this AM.

Speaking of cool gear. I've gotten the daughters TI chopsticks from 
Snowpeak for their Christmas stockings. They are neater than I expected. 
Now let's see if they agree!
