These things seem to take more than a bit of work on the part of a few 
people. I am in awe of how quickly Earthworm put together a Southern Ruck 
last April, although she failed to predict the weather well. I'd like to 
see a more organized Southern Ruck as an option to the PA/Northern Ruck, 
but learning the prices and requirements for Len Foote and local state 
parks puts me off (I have to earn a living). How well the HATT2000 went 
amazes me, even though I feel compelled to offer advice for 2001.

We have a sport of planning and contingencies. Individual efforts are 
required, and tasks should be distributed like we distribute weight among 
fellow hikers. Sometimes it seems as if dealing with each other is a bit 
like herding kittens. I hope you know your efforts are appreciated (even by 
us non-social listers), and don't get burned out.
