I have some ragg wool socks and mittens, from eons ago. I have tried 
everything I could think of--washing them in hot water, drying in hot dryer 
for extended periods, etc.--TRYING to get them to shrink. Hasn't happened 
yet. Those darn things are bulletproof!

So now I have some oversized, really warm lounging socks and mittens.
