The trails in the High Peaks Region mostly have bridges so water height is
not a problem. There is a high water route on a few of them. I would expect
more mosquitos than black flies. If it is not breezy the summits sometimes
have fly problems that are bad enough to drive you elsewhere for eating
lunch. The trails are muddy even when it is dry almost everywhere so don't
wear your white hiking pants.
