Yo,
I still think the best pack cover is none at all! If I felt I had to
have one I think silicone cloth is the way to go. A silicone cloth pack
liner would be even better. I stuff my sleeping bag in a stuff sack
lined with a trash bag. Note: the trash bag is inside the stuff sack so
it doesn't get torn. Same for anything else I want to keep dry. I use a
large trash bag to line my pack with also. I spray the outside of my
pack with silicone water repellent to help keep the fabric from soaking
up water. I have tried pack covers. They seem to be just a big sail to
catch the wind and more trouble to get into my pack. Plus I still put my
dry goods in plastic bag lined stuff sacks anyway.
