I wasn't affected, but then I got good help -- a phone call with an action
plan --  from friends who solve this sort of thing for a living.

They suggsted I switch from preview mode (where I see the list and the email
message simultaneously) to just a standard list mode so that if the
dastardly email showed up in my queue, and if it happened to be the first
one, and therefore opened, I could delete it.
