Re: [at-l] Don't drink the water!

You'll have the ability to treat mass quantities of water, set it aside for pathogen exposure time, Vit C it, and perhaps even chill it. I would just iodine a couple gallons at a time, at night, and go to bed knowing you have a reliable source for the entirety of the next day.
Or drink tequila. Salt, No lime.

Okay, this is really a water treatment question. I'm going to spend June
in Mexico, where tap water is not for drinking. Although bottled water
is available for purchase, I've been thinking about bringing a filter.
The State Department advises a filter that filters down to 1 micron PLUS
iodine treatment. I know the State Department tends to be conservative,
but isn't this overkill? I have a Katadyn mini ceramic that filters down
to .2 microns. What do you think? (For the record, I'm not a fan of
diarrhea when traveling the backroads of Mexico. Come to think of it,
I'm not much of a fan under any circumstances. ;->)

Gimme--just not THAT...
