Ouch. Might it have been scavenging? Old fittings, fixtures, doors, trim, finished wood flooring, beams and such, will fetch a pretty penny in just about any city. I've never been to the Doyle, but it sounds typical of the kind of building a rehabber would drool puddles over. And when that's over.....
Anybody see a bull dozer parked nearby?

A month ago when I passed through Dunncanon I saw carpenters working on the 
main level. It looked like major construction as most of the old interior had 
been removed. That's all I know, but would like to know more.
