Although hiker stink is legendary, there was one PCT hiker who remains the STANK Champion.  He was from either Australia or New Zealand, and he did a thru of the PCT in 97.

This guy DID NOT BATHE for his ENTIRE hike--2600 miles.  Even hikers couldn't take it and complained to the guy.  Wanchor checked into one northern California motel shortly after he did.  The motel owner said she couldn't rent the room the guy used until she had fumigated it for an entire day.  As best other PCT 97 folks could tell, he didn't wash his clothes either.  

After his hike, he sent a message to PCT-L telling them he had taken his "stinky body" home and was back in Australian/New Zealand.  Wonder if he bathed before he got on the plane?
