I'm a section/weekend hiker.

Used an OR on two sections (10 days & 14 days), plus numerous weekenders.

Never got the knack for setting it up in falling weather.

If I set up before the weather began to fall, it did great.  Slept dry and
warm while eight inches of snow covered me and the ground one night.  I
think the "mouth" is too big and the "poles" too difficult to insert for wet
weather set-up.

If you are going to use an OR, you will need some sort of tarp to provide a
"dry" area to set it up under.

IMHO an OR plus a tarp = too heavy for what you get.

Switched to a Normad.
