[at-l] On Line Thru-Hike Guide?

>ou know, here's a passing thought. Has anyone ever considered the idea
of
>taking a project like this online?

Kinda like "A Rough Guide to the AT"..but online? It could work....

+ Easily updated
+ Many contributions rather than rely on a handful of people
+ Easily accessible
+ Think of the flexibilty! Doing a two-week section hike? Print out the
setions you need!
Only want a small portion for your maildrops? Same procedure!

As you said, it would be "people" intensive. Would not want to copy
verbatim to avoid nasty litigation... Jsut among the people in this
list, we cover every state on the AT. :-)
Put out a call for others to contribute, and an online "Rough Guide to
the AT" would be very feasible... Talk about the hiking community coming
together. A resource by hikers for hikers. Not just the work of one
person or a commitee, but a community!
