The one major thing I did wrong was NOT get in better shape.
I suffered for the first few weeks. If you want to see how
badly, just go read the first week or two journal entries
I wrote. The one thing I would definately do differently
is to be in reasonably physical condition when I started.
I was 60+ pounds overweight and had not done more than a
casual hike in nearly 10 years. It was a rude awakening!
