Boy this brought back memories of inconsiderate hikers in double deckers.
A couple of years ago, I passed up a double decker in mid-PA and
bivied/tarped up the trail a bit. There were hikers with some rather young
dogs staking out space at the double decker and I tend to pass on shelters
w/ dogs.
A couple of days later, I learned that I had made a good call. As it was
told to me, the hikers w/ pup were on the top level. The pups weren't fully
house broken and/or the owners were not willing to (or awake enough to)
carry them down the ladder. In any case, the folk on the lower level got a
rather memorable dark-of-the-night shower.
