[pct-l] How's your sleep on the trail?

I have yet to attempt a thru-hike, in large part due to poor sleep while on
shorter hikes. Inevitably, I have a more restless sleep and more stiffness
the following morning, despite loving the silence and surroundings.

I wonder whether it's a matter of adjusting to the conditions, finding more
comfortable sleep ware (using a short thermarest and warm bag now), or if
it's just not meant to be.

What are your experiences?
