[pct-l] Radio in the backcountry

Howdy listers,
I always thought I'd be against using a radio. You know, something
between me and the wilderness. But on my 3 months on the PCT, I
partnered up with a guy carrying a little transistor radio for a couple
of weeks. I still remember laying around several nights listening to
Mystery Theater on KNX 1070, a 50,000W all news station out of Los
Angeles. I think they still have some type of old radio theater every
night. Anyway, one of the stories one night was read by Vincent Price
(the greatest of all the old horror show actors IMHO) and involved a
jaguar stalking people in the old west. JEEPERS CREEPERS!!! When I got
up for my middle-of-the-night bathroom break and a twig snapped nearby,
I almost pee'd all over myself.
