This "not likely to explode" clause could be frightening to some (newer) people
to the backcountry.  If white gas is stored properly in sealed container
and used
with reasonable cae it is very unlikely to explode.  After all we put it in our
automobiles (regular gas about same as white gas for discussion purposes)
everyday
and we have literally no incidents of exploding autos! Same for your
backpack- just
keep the gas in its place and don't pour around open flames and you'll be fine
