[pct-l] PCT and Desolation Wilderness

I was over in Desolation Wilderness this past long-weekend, and ran into
some PCT hikers.

Also snow obscured the trails making it very difficult to find and easy to
get lost (and therefore forced to go cross-country). One must be vigilant
in keeping track of where one is, having a good topo to refer to
(preferably 7.5 mins) and even better is a GPS although that is asking for
too much.
