I am one of those "skeeter" attractors. I am in ultimate misery while my wife
and son are having no problem. Fortunately a light dusting of aerosol DEET works
almost all the time. I hold the can 18" away and spray everything lightly with
18-30% DEET. This does not seem to bother either me, my clothes or my watch
crystal. OTOH, I don't think this strategy would work on a thruhike. I may try
this B-12 idea on my next hike.
