[pct-l] Whitney
Did Whitney on my PCT thu-hike May 23, 1977. First to sign register in 6
months. Very icy with 2 bad chutes to cross on way up. Lots of fresh snow.
Camped at 13,500 at 5;00 p.m. on small ledge on the route down. Found
Irvine's body with camera still intact proving Irvine ( Mallory,s partner )
did survive Mt. Everest, but snuck down only to be killed in fall on Mt.
Whitney.
