Re: [pct-l] TYT compared to JMT?

The northern section of the Tahoe-to-Yosemite trail is a dream resupply. We
resupplied at Echo Lake and Lake Alpine Resort staying a couple of days at each.
Except for one long section from Echo Summit [where we lost the trail] to
Showers Lake the top section is a typical lake to lake hop like the JMT except
the passes aren't quite so high.

Pass Clark Fork Campground the trail ascends to Sonora Pass and an indistinct
trail down to the road. At this point the TYT basically follows the road to
Kennedy Meadows. A better route would to take the PCT from Sonora Pass to where
it junctions with the TYT just inside Yosemite NP. The stretch from here is lots
of long beautiful canyons and tough climbs getting out. Supply in this 90 mile
section is very difficult. The exit to Twin Lakes is a nice hike however.
