To help with the pain from bruises, I use arnica gel or arnica massage oil.
It's a homeopathic remedy that works very well to ease the pain from
exercise.  It's available at Whole Foods Market or any health food store.
Also, drink a lot of water to help flush out lactic acid build up in
muscles.
