Dogs are not allowed on the trail on many parts of the PCT. In particular
the National Parks prohibit dogs. National Forests generally allow dogs,
even in wilderness areas. In general dogs that I have met on the trail
[meaning those canines able to walk the long distance over rough
ground--most can't] are well behaved and don't seem to be a bother.
