Iodine is easy to remove.  Just get some Sodium Thiosulfate otherwise sold
as Fixer for B&W film development.  Put some on the stain and it disappears,
then wash the residue with regular soap.  The fixer forms some compound with
the Iodine that is colorless and soluble in water.

This is an old trick but not well known today as few people use Iodine.
