[pct-l] PCT Sierra Snow

A report from the fourth of July weekend indicates solid snow and frozen
lakes between Sawmill and Taboose Passes. This is the PCT/JMT area around
Pinchot Pass from the KingsRiver to Woods Lake. The entire PCT/JMT is above
10,400' in this area. The trail was NOT VISABLE. The frozen lakes were
probably Lake Majorie, Twin Lakes and Woods Lake.

The report did say that Sawmill Lake [10,000] was partially thawed.

This confirms other reports that indicate snowfield trekking and
mountaineering passes on the PCT/JMT at this time. It also confirms that
the hiking season will start in August this year.
