[pct-l] Late season JMT / PCT hike

I am trying to put together a September 1st fastpack from Mt. Whitney to
Tuolumne Meadows on the JMT and the continue on the PCT to Donner Summit. 
I did the JMT in 87 and remember the trail well.  How well marked is the
PCT from Tuolumne to Donner?  Do those of you who hike the PCT carry pages
of the guidebook for each section?

My aim is about 14 days on a solo hike.  I am open for any advice from
those who have done these sections.  Thanks.
