[pct-l] Mountain Lions , Friend or Foe

Hey now, don't be talkin' back about Home Despot....... ;o)

Sometimes it seems like I spend more time there than on the trail.

Note to self: Never buy a "fixer upper" again.....

Deems lost his hiking partner , " Pika" his dog right off his back door to
ML outside of Happy Camp. ( Later told 5 ML's were working in the area by
game department) One thing they do serve is a dose of the " Unknown" to the
trail. ( Like Rattlesnakes, Bears, etc.) They keep the masses at Walmart
there they belong and not on the trail.. The hiking stories where everything
goes great are soon forgotten ,but the day you see a Mountain Lion lives as
long as you do. ( Or the time you ALMOST stepped on that snake, or did step
on that snake ) Bad days, close calls, rare sighting are the " Gravy" to the
Pacific Crest Trail. What was seen as one of your " Worse" day on the trail
over time becomes your " Best " day on the trail. And to those who are
afraid to dare, Target , Home Depot and Walmart will most likely be having
another " Big Sale " this weekend which is a good thing... More trail for
us!! Pavement is for the Dead, for nothing grows or lives where it is
laid ..... Proverbs 78:34 Hikers Bible Rev. Mad Monte
