[pct-l] New Food Joint & Bug Shelter

Another trip fun time has begun. I don't know if Victorville is too far off of the PCT's sections D and E, but I found a new great place to eat last night with Rattlesnake and his wife. It is called Nikki's Cafe at 19311 Bear Valley Road (760-247-3555). Unbelievable. A lot of seniors eat there, so you know that is one of the highest recommendations you can get. The portions and quality of food were Claim Jumper restaurant similar, but without the high prices. Even, Rattlesnake, who used to be a chef, was blown away and he is so tight he squeaks when he walks. I left a $10 tip for a $38 meal for three. The food, service, and atmosphere was that good. If you order a regular meal and not the senior smaller portion meal, it comes on a platter, instead of a dinner plate. Highly recommended with the Switchback seal of approval. I won't even go into the dessert tray.

Another topic/thread. Before leaving for this expedition, I developed a really neat bug shelter from the GossamerGear Bug Canopy. This neat little shelter was what I planned to sleep under for 90% of my camping and only put up the SpinnTwinn tarp for weather. Now I get to Victorville and I cannot find bug shelter in my pack or my gear/clothes suitcase. Disappeared. I am so mad. All of my other gear looks great and will be super on the trail. THIS IS A COMMIE PLOT!!!! Question: Once you got to the trail, what was the most frustrating thing that has happened to you??? Come on make me feel better.

This one will make my top three hiking frustration's list. RATS! Double RATS! I probably put it some place, so I would not forget to bring it. :-(
