[pct-l] Clarification

If the moon phase website did not come through, here it is again: http://stardate.org/nightsky/moon/

Also, when I said I was going to use my SpinnTwin Shelter for a ground cloth, I did not mean as installation. Of course, it does not have hardly any installation value. I meant just for some added damp protection. That is all. If I wanted more installation, I would just use a longer foam pad instead of the torso length pad I use now. I did not state it very well the first time around. Hey, but I got people all worked up. Neat.

Another thing too. Of course the old mountainmen would be thrilled with a lot of our new gear and would have wished they had it in their day. But I still maintain that they would be very dismayed at the over marketing of outdoor gear in the modern backpacking world.

Finally, I am not advocating not using a shelter. But what I trying to do is think a little bit out of the box. And start from the viewpoint of exactly what do I need a shelter for and when and go from there. This has led me to realize I had some hang ups that were unnecessary and now I am going to make some dramatic shelter technique changes. That is all. If it does not work, then I will go back to my free-standing solo tent. :-)

Thanks for everyone's fine inputs. And keep smiling.
